About Kevin
Kevin Barr is a Piano Mentor, Composer, and Author who has spent many years helping students develop confidence, creativity, and musical ability.
Alongside teaching, Kevin is an active composer, author and broadcaster. His ongoing creative work helps bring fresh inspiration, musical understanding and real-world experience into every lesson.
My Approach to Piano Teaching
I believe piano lessons should develop musicians, not simply examination candidates.
Examinations and grades can be valuable when they are right for the individual student, but they are never the sole purpose of learning to play.
My aim is to help every student play with creativity, flair, confidence and enthusiasm, developing musical understanding, interpretation and a genuine enjoyment of the piano.
A certificate can mark an achievement.
The real achievement is becoming a musician who wants to play.
