About Kevin
Kevin Barr is an experienced Piano Mentor, Composer, Author and Broadcaster with many years of experience inspiring and teaching students of all ages and abilities.
Combining his passion for music with a friendly, encouraging and individual approach, Kevin creates a positive learning environment where every student can develop their musical potential and enjoy the journey of learning the piano.
My Approach to Piano Teaching
I believe piano lessons should develop musicians, not simply examination candidates.
Examinations and grades can be valuable when they are right for the individual student, but they are never the sole purpose of learning to play.
My aim is to help every student play with creativity, flair, confidence and enthusiasm, developing musical understanding, interpretation and a genuine enjoyment of the piano.
A certificate can mark an achievement.
The real achievement is becoming a musician who wants to play.
